Heroism is one of many types from the main themes in Arab folk literature. Arab peoples narrated imaginatively the birth of heroes and their stories. In this study, these epics, Sirat Antara Ibn Shaddad, Sirat Bani Hilal, Sirat Dhat al-Himma, Sirat Hamza al-Bahlawn and Sirat Sayf Ibn Dhi Yazan, were discussed in the context of the birth of their heroes. This study discusses the birth of babies who will become heroes in later years. Additionally, it addresses how society receives these babies in the epic tales, and the factors leading to the baby’s exclusion by their family and upbringing away from them, even though the child was born according to the family’s wishes. The study focuses on the psychological and social reasons for the hero’s exclusion. Furthermore, the birth of these heroes is compared with Turkish and Persian epics. The study aims to make an original contribution to the literature.
